Support the Montgomery Free Library
Dear Friends and Neighbors in Montgomery,
We want to let you know that the Montgomery Free Library will be limiting our hours in the coming months due to COVID's impact on our income.
Unlike most other libraries that are funded by their communities' tax budgets, our Library is solely dependent on donations from the community, the Village and the Town, as we have been since 1915. Although our funding from the Village and Town is stable, our day-to-day income and donations are reduced due to lack of in-person library use.
So, due to circumstances related to the pandemic this past year, the Library has suffered a deficit of thousands of dollars.
The Library is a valuable asset to your community and its loss would be tragic. Not only will the residents be losing their local library, but also access to the RCLSsystem, leaving them with no library at all.
Please donate if you can.
If you bought just 2 books a year, that would cost you about $50. If just 200 people in our Village donated that amount to the Library, we would have enough money to get us through this COVID period until we're able to fully open again. But any amount would be greatly appreciated. And just spreading the word to everyone you know would give us a fighting chance of saving the Library.
To make a donation to
THE MONTGOMERY FREE LIBRARY
mail or drop off your donation to the Library at 133 Clinton St. Montgomery, NY 12549
Thank you so much, your friends at the Montgomery Free Library.
