The Village of Montgomery was awarded $4.5 million in funding as one the Mid-Hudson region’s winners of the second round of New York Forward (NY Forward).

Launched in 2022, New York State's NY Forward program builds on the success of the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) program. NY Forward focuses on invigorating and revitalizing the downtowns in smaller and rural communities—villages, hamlets, and other small, neighborhood-scale municipal centers. The State has allocated $100 million for the second round of NY Forward. Each of the State's ten Regional Economic Development Councils (REDCs) selected two communities per region to receive $4.5 million, bringing the total amount of funding allocated for all rounds of DRI and NY Forward to $1 billion.

A LOCAL LAW AMENDING CHAPTER 122 OF THE CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF MONTGOMERY ENTITLED “ZONING” AND TO AMEND THE ZONING MAP IN FURTHERANCE OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE VILLAGE’S 2017 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE. 

BE IT ENACTED by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Montgomery, New York as follows:

Please be advised that the Planning Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 7:30 pm has been canceled due to no submissions.  It was to be held at the Village Hall, 133 Clinton Street, Montgomery, New York 12549. This notice is sent to you pursuant to Section 95 of the Public Officers Law.  Such meeting is open to the public.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Trustee of the Village of Montgomery will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 6 2021 at 7:00 PM to take and hear comments relating to the tentative budget as proposed by the Board of Trustees. This public hearing will be held in the Village Board Meeting Room, 133 Clinton Street, Montgomery, New York 12549.  A copy of the tentative budget is available at the office of the Village Clerk where it may be inspected by any interested person during regular business.

The proposed compensation for said budget for the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and each Trustee is:
Mayor $18,355     Deputy Mayor $11,128   Trustees $9,711

At the above date, time and place, all interested persons will be given a reasonable opportunity to be heard.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Comprehensive Plan Committee of the Village of Montgomery will hold a Public Informational Meeting on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 7:00 PM or as soon thereafter as can be heard at the Senior Center, 36 Bridge Street, Montgomery, NY 12549 to discuss zoning change recommendations as well as other aspects of the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan Update.  

A copy of the proposed zoning changes is available for public inspection at the Village’s Hall, Clerk’s Office, 133 Clinton Street, Montgomery, NY 12549.

At the above date, time and place, comments will be received by the Comprehensive Plan Committee on the proposed zoning changes.  Written comments will also be accepted provided they are received by the Village Clerk no later than March 30, 2021 at 5 p.m.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Montgomery did adopt Local Law No. 1 of 2021 on the 18th day of March, 2021 at the Village Courtroom, 133 Clinton Street, Montgomery, NY 12549.

SAID LOCAL LAW extends the moratorium on the submission and processing of applications for certain land use approvals within the Village of Montgomery for an additional two months.

Copies of Local Law No. 1 of 2021 are available at the Village Clerk’s Office during regular business hours and on the Village’s web site.
