NOTICE OF CANCELLED MEETING ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
Please be advised that the Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) meeting scheduled for Monday, April 22nd at 7:30PM has been cancelled due to no submissions. It was to be held at the Village Hall, 133 Clinton Street; Montgomery, New York 12459. This notice is sent to you pursuant to Section 95 of Public Officers Law. Such meeting is open to the public.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there has been introduced before the Village Board of the Village of Montgomery, New York, a local law entitled "A Local Law Amending Chapter 79 of The Village of Montgomery Code Entitled "Outdoor Dining, Seasonal", to remove the prohibition against alcohol sales and consumption for seasonal outdoor dining.
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a public hearing will be held by the Village Board of the Village of Montgomery on May 7, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. at Montgomery Village Hall, 133 Clinton Street, Montgomery, New York to consider the adoption of the aforesaid Introductory Local Law.
Any resident of the Village of Montgomery is entitled to be heard upon said proposed Local Law at such public hearing. Copies of said proposed Local Law are available for review at:

Village Wide Yard Sale Day, is on Saturday, May 18th; from 10 am to 5 pm.
Please exercise extreme caution traveling through the area, as there will additional pedestrians walking throughout the Village. In addition, be mindful of parking in a legal space and do not block a driveway.

NY Forward Local Planning Committee
Mayor Mike Hembury today announced The NY Forward (LPC) Local Planning Committee for the Village of Montgomery. The committee will be co-chaired by SUNY Orange President, Dr. Kris Young and mayoral designee Village Historian Brian Fitzpatrick.
LPC Members selected and approved by the NY State Office of Planning, Development & Community Infrastructure include:
- Marc Devitt: President of Devitt Hospitality
- Dr Susan Dean: Director of Operations for McKesson’s Distribution Center, Board Member, Business Council of Greater Montgomery
- Amy Frisbie: Village of Montgomery Planning Board Chair, Co-Chair Montgomery Community Fund
- Jose Hernandez, Village of Montgomery, Board of Ethics, Town of Montgomery IDA.
- Bob Reynolds, Village Community Leader, Past President of the Montgomery Fire Department
- Sylvie Rainaldi, Member Residents Protecting Montgomery, Trustee Town of Montgomery EMS
- Jane Samuelson, Chair, Vision Hudson Valley, Member Valley Central School District Board of Education
LPC members will provide input and feedback on the community vision for downtown, goals, and revitalization strategies. They will also provide direction to consultants, review planning products, and help identify, evaluate, and select proposed projects for the State’s consideration for funding. LPC members will also assist with broad community engagement by guiding the public engagement approach and helping reach out to various constituencies about public engagement opportunities.

The governor also announced two $4.5 million New York Forward awards to the villages of Highland Falls and Montgomery.
Much of Highland Falls was decimated last summer when heavy rains caused massive flooding causing heavy damage to homes and other buildings and washed out roads and other infrastructure.
The Village of Montgomery has stood the test of time as a municipality that has kept its small-town culture.
Orange County Partnership President Maureen Halahan called the grants to the two villages “a wonderful victory” for Highland Falls and Montgomery.
NOTICE OF ADOPTION LOCAL LAW NO. 5 OF 2023
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Montgomery did adopt Local Law No. 5 of 2023 on the 6th day of December, 2023 at the Montgomery Village Hall, 133 Clinton Street, Montgomery, NY 12549.
Said Local Law establishes a six-month moratorium prohibiting the review and approval of certain land development applications in the Village of Montgomery.
Copies of Local Law No. 5 of 2023 are available at the Village Clerk’s Office during regular business hours and on the Village Website.

NOTICE OF ADOPTION LOCAL LAW NO. 4 OF 2023
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Montgomery did adopt Local Law No. 4 of 2023 on the 21st day of November, 2023 at the Village of Montgomery Senior Center, 36 Bridge Street, Montgomery, NY 12549.
SAID LOCAL LAW establishes regulations to allow temporary (seasonal) outdoor dining and to permit same to encroach into the public right-of-way as an accessory component of an adjacent primary business which is located on private property.
Copies of Local Law No. 4 of 2023 are available at the Village Clerk’s Office during regular business hours and on the Village Website.
